Martha Jane Loughridge was born June 4, 1830 in Rocky Mount, Fairfield District, S.C.  She was the daughter of Thomas Loughridge and Martha Ray McCreight Loughridge.

Thomas Loughridge was born in S. C. about 1796; died in S.C. 1831; was buried near mouth of Broad and Saluda River.

Martha Ray McCreight Loughridge died in Alabama 1859 (?); was then 63 years old.

Samuel McMasters Loughridge, son of Thomas and M.R. McC. Loughridge was born about 1822; died in Lowndes Co., Alabama 1866 -- never married.  He was in General Joe Wheeler's brigade all through the war of session.

Mary Harrison Loughridge, daughter of Thomas and M.R. Loughridge was born about 1824; died in Loundsboro, Alabama 1854.

Elizabeth Ford Loughridge, daughter of Thomas and M.R. Loughridge, was born 1828, died 1864, married Robert Dixon Barton.  Their children were Jesse and Marry.

Jesse Barton married Lovie Hamilton; left one sone Jesse.

Mary Barton married Joe Favor; left three sons and one daughter named Lorie.
