From a variety of sources, it seems that the Lindsey Lumber Company, located in Sandersville, Mississippi, owned 3 Shay locomotives.  Lindsey Lumber Company was the birthplace of the Lindsey 8 Wheel Log Wagon.

All three of the documented Shays were 36" gauge. When Lindsey Lumber Co. moved out to Taylorsville, MS around 1925, they built a logging railroad northward along the Leaf River. I think that logging railroad may have been standard gauge, but there are no records to show what locomotives were used at this operation. [Tony Howe]

I would like to thank David Price [photographs], Tony Howe [information], and Bindle Jim [information] for most of the content of these pages.  I was able to ask for information and receive it from these fine folks through the 4L List, The Loyal Legion of Logged-on Loggers on Yahoo.
