Photography

I have had a love of photography since 1965 when a friend of mine at Hardin-Simmons University started teaching me how to take pictures.  Following this initial attraction, I became good enough to earn the job of school photographer during the 1966-67 school year (my Senior year).  I was responsible for photographs for the school annual as well as the school newspaper.  In addition, I took photographs for the Alumni Office publications.  All this work earned me a partial scholarship that year.

During the summer of 1967, I was a staff photographer for the "Abilene Reporter-News".  That fall, I started work, as I was awaiting my induction into the Navy, with the "Laurel Leader-Call" newspaper as sports photographer and staff photographer.

Until recently , I continued my love of photography, but on a rather informal basis.  Then a friend asked me to take some pictures of her daughter and her horse.  The candid portraits and action pictures turned out very well.  So, I decided to go back into photography on a more permanent basis.  Other pictures of mine are indexed at Portfolio Index.

What is very enjoyable to me is the fact that I can bring together my love of photography with my enjoyment of computers in editing the photographs, creating animations from still pictures, and developing web pages utilizing my photographs.

I have also been fortunate to work with Diane Dorney at the "Town Crier", a community newspaper for the Kentlands.
