I am currently a free-lance photographer. A great deal of my
current work is with the "Town
Courier" which is a newspaper covering the Kentlands, the
Lakelands, and Quince Orchard Park in Gaithersburg, MD. Some of
my personal photographic work is on this web site in the
Portfolio Section.
Director, MIS, Acting Internet Editor
for an Internet-based e-commerce company where I have developed an
information-sharing website and martial arts oriented databases.
Help
Desk Manager for Internet-based, E-commerce Company where I assist in
Internet related e-commerce problems; also assist the network engineer
in configuring and maintaining the company’s LAN and Internet
servers (all NT 4.0). Provide
technical support to the other employees of the company including
hardware (desktop computers running Windows NT 4.0 Workstation,
Windows 98, and Windows 95) and software (Microsoft Office 97).
Assisted the Network Engineer in planning, configuring, and deploying
the Proxy Server for the company.
Developed
client-server Access database program to track contacts on a
company-wide basis from Telemarketers to Sales to Sales Contract to
Client Services. This program was developed utilizing Visual Basic for
Applications, Access Security, and NT network security.
Developed
and maintained company intranet with Excel Timesheet and Expense
Reports templates (which I also developed).
This intranet is also the basis for links to our Web Trends
reports (web server statistics) and general company information.
Tier-1
Support Supervisor supporting 3000 computers in Classified and
Unclassified Networks (Windows 3.11, Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, DOS,
Ethernet environment) for the Department of the Navy, Pentagon.
Acting
Help Desk Supervisor supporting and overseeing support for 1100
computers in 6 locations plus providing telephone support for 7 other
offices (Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, DOS, Token Ring
environment)
Developed
business templates for a division of Thompson Financial Services – a
Sales Report that utilizes an Excel database, multiple pivot tables,
and lookups to consolidate and summarize the sales of four business
units into single sheet reports with sales-to-goals figures for Sales
as a whole and as individual business units, and charts and product
sales breakdowns.
Taught
classes in MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. I
taught classes in these subjects to ICF Kaiser employees [part-time
while I was Acting Help Desk Manager].
I also taught PowerPoint classes under a short-term contract to
a DC lawyer’s office before working with ICF Kaiser.
