*Birth & death dates as well as wife comes from the "DAR Patriot Index," 1966.  Interestingly enough, in this publication, he is a Private in the Army. I am not sure about the designation of Colonel and where it came from [editor].

Another source states that John Lindsey was wounded in the Battle of Kings Mountain.

Information in the Lindsey Family Bible says that he immigrated to Spartanburg, SC and was wounded at the Battle of Kings Mountain.
